Friday Evening Service

Prelude: Curt Cook and Dave Anderson played a guitar duet of “Through it All” and then were joined by Matt Hanson on the banjo to play “What a Friend.” The group then accompanied Peter and Laura Moberg as they sang “God of the Mountain.”

Featured Testimonies: Ade Asaya shared how the Lord saved her, sanctified her, and a few years ago at camp meeting baptized her with the Holy Spirit. Earl Phillips spoke of the thrill of the first camp meeting he attended after he got saved. Joyce Ewers was thankful for the recent support when her father passed away, and is so thankful Jesus is her Counselor and Guide. Al Smith said he got saved in 1978 and that year at camp meeting he couldn’t wait to get to the campground for service each evening. Katia Fedosov shared how she has had to learn to place her future in God’s hands rather than planning it all out herself. Duane Wilson is glad that when difficult times come he doesn’t run to drugs or alcohol, but goes to the Lord and experiences His peace.

First Special: The choir sang “Drinking at the Springs of Living Water.”

Last Special: Arthur Ruiz sang “I Asked the Lord.”

Sermon: Bob Downey read 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, speaking of the hope of Heaven and the importance of being ready when Jesus returns.
